Yesterday's activities included baking cookies and making hard boiled eggs. I have never used my steamer to make hard cooked eggs so I decided to try it.
Using 1 1/2 cups of water I steamed for 22 minutes and only one of 18 eggs was cracked. Of course I had to eat it… .Yummmm! Steaming worked great. Today we will try coloring the eggs. I bought a special egg coloring kit for Emily and she is extremely excited about getting to color eggs. The egg coloring kit is a little egg spinner, similar to the “salad spinner”. You drop the colors into it and put the egg in and close it up. Hit the spinner button (this is not electric) on top and the egg spins around and is covered in coloring. I’ll post pictures of egg coloring later.
I also made chocolate chip cookies yesterday.
They turned out like this:
The light cookies are chewy and the dark ones are crisp.
The flowers and little bag (which holds some of the cookies between tissue paper) are for my neighbor friend. She will be 91 in a couple of weeks.
On the home front, Emily is not feeling well today. This morning her temp was at 100 (F). She’s been congested and I just thought it was allergies, however maybe it’s something more. She was to have an appointment at the therapy center today but I’ve cancelled that for now.

Praying for Emily to make a speedy recovery. I hope and pray that you will all be healthy so that you can enjoy a Blessed Easter.

What a wonderful gift for your neighbor. I'm sure she will appreciate it.
I was watching the nightly good question on the news and they told how to boil eggs. They said you actually never "boil" them. The chef said to put salt in the water to make peeling the eggs easier, bring the water to a gentle roll then take off the fire, cover and let sit for 18 minutes. I never thought of "steaming" them. I don't have a steamer like the one you have but I do have a Turbo Cooker that does steaming. I'll have to try that and see how it works.
