We were finally approved for the Voyager Easytrack lift system. Yippee! This should help us get Emily into and out of her bed and chair. Since Emily is taller than I am (thankfully not heavier), I’ve been having a difficult time transferring her.
Not sure how long it will take for the paperwork to get to the equipment company, or how long it will take to get the equipment once ordered, but we’re on our way. Wow, it’s been a long haul.
Emily had a little trouble with blood in her urine for a couple of days. Things are going better now. She started on the new seizure drug and I was hoping and praying it wasn’t that.
Since starting the new seizure medication Emily has been much more vocal. This morning she called and called me. I went in and talked to her, turned her TV on (which is usually what she wants) and then went back to my room. Soon she was calling again. Ended up she felt like she was falling over so I moved her around in her bed and she was happy. Its so nice that she can use her voice, if not for words, but to get attention so I can help her when she needs it.
Jered came home from work with a card and chip set yesterday. He taught me how to play a game called Mancala.
Its played with the chips not the cards. The object is to take your opponents chips, and keep your chips while moving around each spot. There is some strategy involved and I have to say that I’m not that great at the game. However I did collect most of the chips after a few games. Then, of course, he stopped helping me. Go figure….

Praise God our prayers have been answered to your favor & you get your lift system. I checked it out when you first mentioned it and thought it was pretty swift.
Draven used to love playing mancala. I got him a couple of sets. hmm.. that might be fun to bring on our bahamas trip. Thanks for hte idea :~)
That looks good - more floorspace than a mobile hoist too. Hope it comes soon.

I'm so glad to hear that you've been approved, I'm sure the lift system will make your life so much easier. Have you ever experienced a bad back from all the lifting? It's so good to hear that Emily is communicating so well, that sure makes life a lot easier.
