Spring smells delicious!

It’s beautiful outside. The sun warmed my skin as I took the horses to the other pasture. Oh I’m so ready for the sun. I have all the doors and windows open to clean the air in the house. The only problem with the doors open is the dogs barking. As soon as the dog across the street barks then our girls bark. The cat is enjoying springtime.

Emily is feeling better today. This last weekend she had blood in her urine and then a black tarry stool which can indicate blood in the stool. I called the urologist, who sent me to the pediatrician. Today I contacted the GI doc to let her know there were some problems with the stool. The GI doc decided that Emily must be constipated (even though I know for sure she isn’t…..) and told me to give her more Miralax.

I think I need to search for a new GI doc. Problem is Emily has such high needs I can’t just change her doctor at a whim. However this is the second time I’ve had concern with this doctor. I called the pediatrician office back again and told the nurse what the GI said. Emily will be cared for through their office if she has further problems with the GI issues in the next few days.

I think the new seizure medicine is working well. Its been a week and a few days since starting and she is more vocal, and she had a 5 or 6 day stretch between the last two seizures. We’re going up on the dose and have started weaning down one of the other drugs. I think this medication will be a positive change for Emily.

praise the Lord for new meds that work! we have been titrating Isaac onto a new one, too, and it seems to be doing well. yay!!!

oh, I hate having to find a new doctor! it is so hard, and you never know if they will be better than the old one, or even worse! praying for wisdom for you as you decide about that.

so glad that spring has sprung for you !
