Emily and Dad
Emily had her ENT appointment today. We learned that the “thing” in her throat isn’t a tonsil. It is something for sure, but not a tonsil. Hum, now what? He took a feel inside her throat and the conclusion was that it felt like a part of the muscle in her neck from her turning her head to the right much of the time (she has torticollis). Not sure how the muscle had moved into her throat. He said if the current problems persist she may need a trach in the future. I’m not sure I want to go there. Years ago, when Emily was just a toddler and she was having breathing and choking issues the answer back then was also to give her a trach. We chose the tonsillectomy, and it worked.
While we were there in the office Emily needed suctioning because her throat is full of yuck. The ENT decided that she probably needs to see her pulmonary doc instead of him for the stuff in her throat.
By the time we got home Emily needed to be on oxygen. So is it illness? We have tried allergy medicine, nose spray, and breathing treatments. She’s been doing this for at least 3 weeks now. I hope and pray she doesn’t need to be on oxygen very long. I made the pulmonary appointment that she needed.
Tonight I decided I needed a good film to relax by. Rooster Cogburn is really good. I love the way John Wayne and Katharine Hepburn relate to each other in this movie. It is just so cute. This is definitely one of my favorites.

I'm sorry to hear that Emily is sick. I will be pray right now that she has a quick recovery and won't need extra oxygen after tonight.
Just curious to know, what ENT did you end up seeing? Also wondering who your pulmonologist is. I will also be praying that she will not have to have a trache, Luke had one for 7 months and getting rid of it was one of the happiest days of my life.
Love in Christ,
