And Our Spirits Were Lifted

Yesterday we had to get ready for something really exciting. That meant moving Emily’s “Kids” from the net in the corner next to her bed to another safe place. She was very upset and cried and cried when we took the net and her kids down.

And then the most wonderful people showed up and went to work.

That corner is where the toys used to hang in the net.

Almost done! It looks like it is in the middle of the door, but it isn’t. This is called a Voyager Lift System.

Lets give her a try.

Nurse helps Emily into her chair.

Guess who else wants to try it.

Grace thinks it works perfectly also.

I am so thankful that God has blessed us with this lift!

Awesome! I have a Voyager system too - exact same model by the look of it. The generic name for this type of system is a 'gantry hoist'.

I wish Emily (and Grace!!) well to wear it - I use mine 4-6 times a day and without it I wouldn't have been able to come home out of a nursing facility because I can't use the the typical hoyer-type mobile hoists.

I have a load of little twinkly lights - fairy lights - taped along the side of my hoist and up one of its legs, I can turn it on by pressing my switch - maybe Emily would enjoy something like that?

Congratulations Emily!

Wow, Becca, the lights and switch sound like an awesome idea!
