It was a long and very hot week.
The temperature is outside the car not inside!
I thought it was hot till I saw this…. (click on the picture to see it better). Who would have thought western Washington would see such heat?
The day that it was most hot we had a medical appointment and were able to be in air conditioning for part of the day. But then we had to return to a hot-box house. Emily was really wilting. We ended up keeping her cool with wash cloths and sheets that had been placed in the freezer. We took her little bear that we heat up in the microwave and put him in the freezer also. He is stuffed with barley?, and held the cool temperature pretty well.
I think the heat took a toll on Emily’s Pic line also. I had a very difficult time flushing it yesterday and had to call the infusion clinic to get advice on how and what to do. Fortunately they were able to help me over the phone. If we lose the Pic line right now we’ll have to take it out. I’m hoping to keep it in place, at least through about September as Emily has another procedure coming up.
Please pray for Emily to stay cool on these warm days.
And just look what the heat/sun did to my avocado tree!
But there was a bright spot. Look what I found in my garden!
It’s watermelon! Yippee! Looks like we’ll have some this summer after all. I wonder how quickly they grow?
Thanks for listening~

Holy Moly - that's hot! I'm so thankful for our A/C!! :)
Hmmm...will be interesting to see how long it takes until your watermelon is ready...you might have some in September??? LOL...
Hi Michelle,
So nice to meet you! Thanks for the nice post, I missed it until just this morning. My cousin lives in Idaho and she said it's hot there, too, but virtually no humidity. We have been in the 80's here in SC but it feels like your in a bathtub of hot water everytime you walk out the door!
I heard there's a heat wave over there (I'm originally from Vancouver, Canada) . . . Thanks for stopping by my blog the other day and leaving a comment. It's been fun Getting to Know You.

We went camping over the weekend and people there were talking about how hot western Washington had been. I do hope by now your heat wave has passed. I feel so bad for the kids when it gets so hot like that. Good thinking about the sheets and stuff in the freezer! I'll havae to remember that one.
