The Christmas List

presents1

This is the time of year at our house when we start talking about Christmas lists.  We tell each other to start writing out a Christmas list.  Generally its for the kids, but even Jeff and I discuss our Christmas lists with each other.  The only person who doesn’t often have a list is Emily.

The difficulty is in her lack of ABILITY to communicate with us. It’s very frustrating for her as well as for us.  Most years she just sits back and waits to see what she gets.  And she totally enjoys unwrapping gifts as most kids do.  But I often wonder what she really wants.

As we have begun to talk about Christmas this year she has been very interested and even excited to communicate what she wants on her Christmas list.  Yesterday we were discussing options and possibilities with Emily and she decided she wanted a stuffed puppy dog for Christmas.  She was so happy when we came to that conclusion.  Yippee, she has  a Christmas list!  Today we will put it in writing and tape it to the wall.  Then we’ll see if we can eake out a few more items that she would like to have.

She HAS a Christmas list!  Have I said Yippee?  YIPPEE!

Horrahhh!
Do either of the girls make a Christmas chain? I know mine used to love to make one with 25 little circles all linked together each with a prayer or thought or verse on them then tear one off each day and read it. Maybe yours would like to make one.

I say a great big YIPPEE!!! That is wonderful I often wonder what Luke would like for Christmas and after reading your blog I'm going to do a better job of trying to figure it out with his help.

Once again thank you so much for making the beautiful crosses, each time I look at mine I'm reminded of your generosity.
